Position Summary

The Lead position is to provide back-up supervision for the department when scheduling of Supervisors cannot provide full coverage to adequately supervise employees. Collaborates with the Manager and Supervisors to coordinate, monitor, and control all Food and Nutrition Department operations including Cafeteria, Kitchen, Catering, Physician Lounge, Tray Line, Dish room, and Storeroom. Assures that all operations are conducted according Saddleback Memorial Medical Center and Food and Nutrition Department policies and procedures. Responsibilities include supervising all employees in the performance of their duties, conducting on the job training and maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

1. Open and close department.

2. Follow departmental money handling procedures.

3. Supervise employees in the department.

4. Monitor tray line, cafeteria, and catering for timely delivery of services.

5. Monitor safety, sanitation, and security practices.

6. Prepare paperwork according to assignments.

7. Assist in planning and implementation of work redesign of efficiency and quality.

8. Evaluate and counsel employees in the absence of a supervisor.

9. Use the hospital computer system.

10. Be at work and be on time

11. Follow company policies, procedures and directives

12. Interact in a positive and constructive manner

13. Prioritize and multitask

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Qualifications/Work Experience:

• Previous restaurant or acute care hospital foodservice experience.

• One year of quantity food preparation experience required.\

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
