Position Summary

The Housekeeper I position is responsible for the primary care of housekeeping services within the hospital. Performing cleaning, sanitizing and disinfection functions in assigned areas following the established cleaning schedules and by utilizing the appropriate cleaning methods, while maintaining a safe work environment. This position assists in other housekeeping duties as assigned by the department director, manager, supervisor and/or lead.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

1. Demonstrates the ability to safely and competently perform the established departmental cleaning procedures to provide a sanitized and disinfected, healing environment.

2. Demonstrates the ability to ensure any unsafe conditions are reported to management for corrective action.

3. Demonstrates the ability to perform daily work task(s) ensuring that they have been completed accordance with site-specific procedures.

4. Demonstrates the ability to adhere to department cleaning and safety standards.

5. Ability to be at work and be on time.

6. Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives.

7. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.

8. Ability to prioritize and multitask.

9. Meets population specific competencies.

10. Attends department specific education/training, in-services, staff meetings.

11. Informs lead/supervisor/director of any unusual occurrences.

12. Provides input to improve department operations, equipment and supply needs.

13. Demonstrates the ability to respond to pages in an appropriate amount of time (within 5 min).

14. Demonstrates the ability to request supplies.

15. Demonstrates the ability to maintain closet and cart in orderly fashion.

16. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

· 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare facility, preferred.

Education

· Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language, preferred.
